On November 15th, 2017, good news came from Bonn, Germany. At the 23rd United Nations Climate Conference (COP23), the renovation project of Terminal T1 of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport won the international awards: 2017 Green Solutions Awards—Sustainable Renovation Grand Prize, 2017 Green Solutions Award—the green renovation solution award for existing buildings, which ranked second in the world. The award is sponsored by Construction 21 International and supported by French Environment and Energy Management Agency, Global Building Alliance, International Regional Climate Action Organization, German passive house Institute, World Green Construction Committee and other organizations, aiming at promoting the innovation of buildings, communities and infrastructure and helping to limit global warming. A total of 150 projects from 19 countries participated in the "Green Building Scheme Award", including 118 in architecture, 11 in urban areas and 21 in municipal areas. The green renovation of Terminal T1 of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport was well received by international judges. In the green renovation cases of existing buildings in the world, the technical score was the first and the comprehensive score was the second. The construction unit Shanghai Airport (Group) Co., Ltd., the design unit Huadong Architectural Design Research Institute of Huajian Group, and the green design consulting unit Huajian Group Shanghai Architectural Science and Technology Innovation Center were invited to attend the climate conference and award ceremony.

The annual "Green Solution Award" held by Construction21 International has been held for four times. The award ceremony is an important part of the annual United Nations Climate Conference. The award-winning projects will receive extensive international attention, and will be broadcast and reproduced by more than 60 media partners and professional organizations. The award-winning information will be permanently displayed on the Construction21 international website. At the same time, the information of the winning projects in 2017 will be compiled into the annual development status report of the Global Building Alliance.
