Hormel, founded in 1891, has a rich product line of meat products, including bacon, ham, sausages, and meat snacks. With its long brand history and exquisite craftsmanship, the Hormel brand perfectly embodies the brand philosophy of "Taste the Quality.”
Starting in 2022, Hormel established the Hormel Asia-Pacific R&D Center and Ambient Factory in Jiaxing.
This will become the shining "lighthouse factory" for Hormel China, representing a new round of expanded investment based on the existing Jiaxing factory.
With a total investment of $100 million, it will be built into a modern factory covering an area of approximately 40,000 square meters.
The factory construction will be carried out in two phases. Upon completion of the first phase, it is expected to achieve an annual increase of 6,000 tons in high-end food production capacity.
Additionally, space has been reserved for the second phase of construction to allow for further capacity expansion in the future.
The project adheres to high standards of intelligence, digitalization, and sustainability, aiming to construct a world-class, modern base for specialized intelligent manufacturing of piling machinery, trenchless machinery, and other equipment.
A significant amount of automated equipment has been introduced into the production lines.
This not only reduces the labor intensity for workers but also increases per capita output, reduces labor costs by 70%, and cuts production costs by 10%, while improving efficiency by 15%.
By designing personalized electricity plans through a smart electricity platform and utilizing various data, the factory achieves staggered energy use. With the implementation of measures such as rooftop photovoltaics and energy feedback from test benches, the factory aims to establish a “zero-carbon factory”.
Since the project commenced, it has adhered to scientific planning and precise management.
Various functional departments have closely collaborated, overcoming numerous adverse factors through coordinated communication and proactive engagement with all parties involved.
This exemplifies a resilient and fearless "Iron Army" culture. At the early stages of the project, a labor competition was organized to promote excellence and continuous improvement through competition.
